Our approach

The Thomas Davies Charity website has been built to be simple, fast and legible. We have aimed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as closely as we can on a small, plain website, and to follow the spirit of those guidelines even where the letter does not strictly apply to a charity of our size.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML. The pages use proper headings, landmarks, lists and link structure so that screen readers and keyboard users can navigate them easily.
  • Keyboard navigable. All interactive elements — the menu, links, buttons and form fields — can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A "skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page.
  • Readable colours. We have chosen a colour palette that provides clear contrast between text and background and avoided heavy colour gradients that can make text hard to read.
  • Resizable text. The pages use relative sizing and respect your browser's zoom and font-size settings.
  • Reduced motion. If your device is set to prefer reduced motion, our small animations are disabled.
  • Responsive layout. The site works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.
  • Plain language. We have tried to write clearly, without jargon, and to use headings that actually describe what a section is about.

Known limitations

We are not a large organisation and we do not have a full-time accessibility team. There may be small issues that we have not yet identified. In particular:

  • Some links open external websites (such as the Charity Commission register). The experience on those sites is outside our control.
  • The contact form on the Contact page uses your own email application to send messages. If you use an unusual device configuration, that handover may not behave as expected — please write directly to info@llanybydder.org.uk instead.

If something does not work

If you find anything on this website that is difficult for you to use, or if you would like information from the site in a different format (for example, large print, or sent to you by email), please let us know. We will do our best to help.

Please write to info@llanybydder.org.uk with a short description of the problem or what you need. Include the page address if you can. We will reply within a reasonable time and will aim to put matters right.

Alternative formats

If you are unable to read this site for any reason, the trustees will be glad to provide the relevant information in writing. Please contact us using the email address above.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice on your rights.
